FAST START - Free Accountancy Session

For the next few months, up to 30th April 2010, we are offering a free accountancy session. The session (lasting 3 hours) provides you with the key financial knowledge you need to set up and run your business. This is being funded by Business Link. You must be within one month of starting up.

The areas covered include:

• Understand pricing and margin so that you make a profit!
• A practical introduction to book-keeping
• A guide to credit control - making sure you get paid!
• Other FAQ’s – including VAT, record keeping, cashflow, paying tax

But the topics covered don’t need to be restricted to the list above; if you feel confident in these important areas, then feel free to ask about other finance matters to suit your needs.

How does it benefit me and my business?

Many businesses start up without getting the basic building blocks in place, either because of cost, time, or simply not knowing where to go.

This service will give you all the information you need to start on the right foot - you will understand from the word go how to price effectively, what your accounts are telling you, and most importantly how to make money!

Eligibility

To be eligible you won’t have started trading yet, but intend to start your business in Yorkshire and Humber within the next 4 weeks. You will be considered to have started trading if you have recorded your first cash sale or raised your first invoice.

Do you have to fill in lots of forms?

No! We do it all for you! You just have to start in business within 4 weeks of the free accountancy session.
